Concert in Luxembourg

On September 24th 2021, I presented my project 21st Century Music for Baritone Saxophone in the launch of the new season (the 25th!) of Les Concerts du Foyer Européen in Luxemburg city.

I performed a varied programme of music of the present century including the premieres of two works for baritone saxophone solo by different composers. I am so happy to have taken part of the process of adaptation and composition of these two beautiful works.

First was WILD IS THE WIND by Irish composer Ian Wilson, originally written for bass clarinet in 2018 and adapted some months later for baritone saxophone. Listen to it here:

Second was IMPROMPTU by Uruguayan composer Gustavo Britos Zunín, written between 2018 and 2019. Listen to it here:

The concert programme was completed with the SUITE by Argentinian composer Fernando Lerman and two very powerful works by women composers I like very much: SPLEEN IIII by Olga Neuwirth and DREAMLOVER by Albena Petrovic-Vratchanska.

Listen to the full concert from the website of FCE, if you want.

Greetings from Barcelona!

Joan

Women Composers
