Concert in La Ràpita: June 6th, 2021

This concert will be special to me for many reasons.

I am going to entirely present my solo project SUITES, by playing three Suites of different styles of music: a suite for cello solo by Johann-Sebastian Bach, a suite for solo saxophone by Fernando Lerman and the “Suite Mixtur”, a compilation of short original works for baritone saxophone composed by some of the participants at the Composition and Sound Experimentation Workshop of the Barcelona Mixtur Festival 2018.

Although I have plans to write a post about “Suite Mixtur” later, let me tell you that I will premiere two of the five pieces included in this suite: “Quasi uno Specchio” by Isabel Benito and “A Study in Distortion” by Hakki Cengiz Eren (I already premiered the other pieces: “Traç 1” by Daniel Muñoz-Osorio, “Mélancolie 1” by Demián Rudel and “Miniature” by Florent Caron Darras, at Mixtur Festival in April 2018). Furthermore, this will be the first time I play this compilation as a Suite.

I am really excited to play in my hometown: there is no place like home!

There, …

Suites

Would he create works influenced by traditional music or, on the other hand, he would experience in the rich sound palette of this instrument? As …
