“4bkl” in Perpignan (France): November 16th, 2020

Due to the Covid-19 policies in France, the performance of Tatiana Gerasimenok’s “4bkl” by Morphosis Ensemble, has changed the date and format. Instead of Thursday 19th, it will be broadcasted in Monday 16th at 7.45pm on this Youtube channel.

“4bkl” by Belarusian composer Tatiana Gerasimenok is an audiovisual work for baritone saxophone, electronics and gestual actress commissioned by Morphosis Ensemble, with the support of Euro-Region Pyrinées-Mediterranée. In Summer 2019, a common proposal among Unió Social Flix, Fundació Phonos Barcelona, Placa Base Palma de Mallorca and Ensemble Flashback Perpignan obtained a grant from this Euro-Region for a new creation project. Morphosis Ensemble, as a resident group of Unió Social of Flix (Catalunya, Spain), choose Gerasimenok among more than 30 proposals.

Due to the Covid-19, artistic residences planned for Spring and Summer 2020 were cancelled and this new situation marked the format of this work. Composer Tatiana Gerasimenok in Berlin, actress Amandine Audinot and scene director Edgar Alemany in Paris, sound artist Joan Bagés in Flix and I in Barcelona created a virtual place to work on this project for some months. As a result, virtual support and technologies as ZOOM give us a new approach to art.

“4bkl” was premiered at Phonos Fall Festival in Barcelona as a video installation from September 27th till October 2nd. It was presented in concert at Unió Social of Flix in October 18th and ME_MMIX Festival in Palma de Mallorca in October 20th. Festival Aujourd’hui Musiques of Perpignan will close online this international tour next Monday.
